Soccer Season ends with Fun Tournament

Our Senior soccer end of year tournament was held on Wednesday for the first time since 2019 on a sunny but windy day up in Wayside Celtic.  It was a lovely way to finish off a fun few weeks of inter-school football games for the 5th and 6th classers, where each team played 4 games against our neighbouring schools.  Whilst the results were varying, everyone enjoyed a little taste of normality and pulling on the Taney shirt, many for their very first time.

None of the games or training would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our soccer coaches, Ken, Conor, Luke and Gordy.  Some of the games had to be arranged on various days of the week and our coaches were very happy to take extra time out from their week to ensure our children had the experience of playing for their school.  A very big thanks to Gordy (Gordon Lindsey) who helped us out on the first day and stayed for the entire season.

Everyone at Taney Senior Soccer wishes the outgoing 6th classers all the best in Secondary school and look forward to returning in September to what we hope will be a full season of inter schools’ football and some tournaments!
