Despite Storm Brian threatening to put a dampener on proceedings, the School Fair on 21st October saw an estimated 150 families brave the rain to attend the children’s favourite annual event. Your generous contributions produced a grand total of €5,447, which will initially go towards funding €3,300 in classroom expenses for every teacher to buy items such as games, arts and crafts supplies and other sundries.
The 4th and 5th Class pupils should be very proud, as they raised €424 from their eager baking and selling of colourful culinary delights such as buns, biscuits, traybakes and cakes. The 6th Class Stalls also managed to pull in an impressive €622 with their ingenious games, fun activities and tasty food offerings. Congratulations to Cilla Stockil who correctly guessed the 142 balloons in the Bluebell Motors car and to Hugh Archer who won the main raffle prize of the iPad.
Finally, a huge thank you to the 63 parent volunteers and 17 teachers who helped make the Fair happen, and a special shout out to Nigel and Sinead Macken along with Nicola Darley for their invaluable behind-the-scenes input.
