Players of the Year

There are many different aspects of Taney Sports Committee that provides the reward which makes up for all the dedication and hard work of being a member.  Watching kids faces light up when they score their first goal, seeing kids of different abilities being part of a team or hearing about kids who didn’t even know what shape a cricket bat was when signing up for their local club.

One of those enjoyable occasions is taking the team photos at the end of the year, watching them all beam with the pride of their achievement, be it winning the league, a cup or just the fact that this picture solidifies their entire sporting year with their team mates!   Part of this occasion is to announce the Player of the Year for our players who will be moving on from Taney at the end of June.  Unfortunately due to these unusual times these photos and announcements can not take place.

So for the Class of 2020 instead of an announcement in Assembly in front of their peers, they must make do with a trophy delivered to their door on what would have been the eve of their last Taney Sports Day.  We as a committee hope that this gesture goes a small way towards letting these kids know that their achievement is important and we want it to be recognised.  The recipients were chosen by their relevant coaches.

Everyone on Taney Sports Committee would like to congratulate all players that took part in all the sporting activities over the shortened 2019/2020 season and we hope to see you all back again as soon as possible in the Autumn term.
