Senior Infants have had a very busy term cutting and sticking, painting lovely autumn trees, making scarecrows and reading stories about scarecrows.
It was an exciting day to day in 1st and 2nd classes, we got all our new tables and chairs and had to help carry the old ones out of the classroom, luckily 6th Class came to help with the desks!
We have been enjoying some playtime in the mornings before we start our work . We have been making lots of different things, patterns and creatures that we are very proud of. We have also been enjoying some brain breaks especially on wet days. We are working really hard and enjoying being back in school.
Senior Infants had such a fun summer trip to Tinahely Farm where they met lots of animals and played on the go carts.
We have played and learned lots! We have planted broad beans and sunflowers. During Active Week we did Yoga and Playball, we were dancing and played Ultimate Frisbee!

Senior infants have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk. We read several versions and then picked our favourite one. We made big beanstalks in our groups.
Senior Infants have been learning about squares, rectangles, triangles and circles. They used matchsticks, straws, lollipop sticks and playdough to make the shapes.
We were looking for number and shapes all around us during Maths Week. We were learning to play card games and dominos which the children can play at school and at home.
Senior Infants have been enjoying “The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch”. We painted some pictures and then we made our own lighthouses.
Senior Infants had great fun at their Sport’s Day. We had Zumba with Carla, lots of relay races and finished our day with delicious ice cream.
On Tuesday Senior Infants had a great day over at Airfield Farm. They saw the cows being milked and went bug collecting.
Senior Infants are having lots of fun learning outdoors this summer!

Our broad beans are thriving! I brought them home and have been looking after them. Yesterday I planted sixteen beans in to flowerpots and I have seven doing well on my windowsill. Hopefully they will be ready to plant next week!

While at working from home some children from Junior and Senior Infants have been very busy researching a new country every day and recording their findings.

In Mrs. Wilson’s Senior Infants class we have been talking about the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have made colourful beanstalk pictures and have also planted beans and are excited to watch them grow over the coming weeks!
Friday 14th December – a very special day, a very special play. We performed our first ever nativity “Hey Ewe” in Taney Church. We all worked together and told this joyful story through words and songs. Every single child was a star and we all had a wonderful time!

Senior Infants had a great time on their class tour to Imaginosity this week, dressing up, putting on a puppet show, doing a news broadcast and much more!
